Welcome to Davies Timber, where our aim is to supply quality timber from our door to your door.
Established over 100 years ago and still on our original site in Wythall Birmingham. Davies timber was created by our Name sake Mr Jack Davies. He started the business with a few members of staff in a small yard on the Alcester Road.
The industry and the business slowly grew until fast forward to 1995, when the current owners took over the business. The two new owners bought a wealth of new experience to the company and things started to change.
With a further growth in the industry and business, it became apparent that expansion was needed. It was at this point we acquired the use of a 2-acre site at the rear of the premises, which allowed for us to increase our stock holding offering more choice and availability.
Although the company was thriving a downturn in the building and house building industry a few years later was causing a lot of business to have to close shop, but Davies Timber forged on.
The company has specialist niches, such as supplying over 20 species of hardwood and a bespoke machining service, which kept the company growing throughout this difficult period.
The industry recovered, and it was time to expand again. First, we increased the size of our customer service department, adding in a brand new flooring and door showroom. We then increased the number of experienced customer service team members. We have always prided ourselves on the excellent promotional opportunities in our company, and it was with great pleasure that we were able to promote our own employees into the new positions that were created.
At present we are forging on, improving all departments of the company. We have a wealth of experience in delivering exceptional wood supplies, and well informed impartial advice to both trade and DIY customers, and take great pleasure in supplying the materials that help you complete your project.
So, whether you need timber, decking, doors, bespoke machining or hardwood, come along to your local timber merchant.
It must be Davies Timber.
